All parents automatically become members of the association when their child starts school.

The association plays an active part in promoting links between home and school through the staging of a wide range of events throughout the year.  The aim of these events is two-fold; firstly these events contribute to the funds of the P.T.A and secondly they provide an opportunity for parents, children and teachers to come together in an informal environment and have some fun. Funds raised are used to provide extras for the school, which provide an enhanced quality of life for the children. An example of this has been the provision of the ICT suite, the play area and equipment, made possible by the school and the P.T.A working together to raise funds and provide manpower to complete these substantial projects.

The P.T.A. Annual General Meeting is held in the Autumn Term and everyone is invited to attend.

‘EASY FUNDRAISING’ for St Mary’s Lower School

3000 shops are on board this scheme that we have joined up to therefore it is a brilliant opportunity to donate to the school without costing you a penny extra than what you choose to spend online.  And best of all its really simple to use all you have to do is:

  1. Join – head to  and sign up for free
  2. Shop  – every time you shop online go to easyfundraising first (either via the website or the app), pick the retailer you want and start shopping
  3. Raise – after you’ve checked out that retailer will make a donation to Friends of St Marys (which in turn goes to benefit our children) for no extra cost.

You may also recall that we are signed up for a similar scheme with micro scooters, as part of their ‘Scooters for School’ scheme.  Everytime you make purchase via we earn 10% of the total cost back – basically more free money for school and great presents for kids!  If you are buying any of the Micros Scooter products all you need to do is quote our school educational code (URN number) 109617. Anyone can quote this code so please spread the word to your family and friends so we can maximise the benefits for our school. It’s a scheme that runs permanently too, not just at Christmas.
