Remembrance 2024
In 2024, we visited the war memorial in Church on Remembrance Day. Some of our older children read the names of fallen from the memorial, whilst others read a prayer and others were also involved in raising and lowering the flag before and after the two minutes silence.
After all of the children observed the two minutes silence beautifully, some of our oldest and youngest children also laid wreaths on the memorial. These were made from recycled lids! One of our Forest School children also laid a wreath on behalf of our Forest School group.
Harvest 2024
In September 2024, we once again asked our families to donate dried/tinned goods as well as nappies, hygiene/toiletry products etc. These items were then split between our Clophill Community Hub and the NEED project (https://theneedproject.org/).
Our families were, again, incredibly generous in their donations. Here are some pictures of the donations:
Clophill Open Gardens 2024
We showcased our beautiful new Early Years Garden during the 2024 Clophill Open Gardens Event, with artwork from Year 2 on display to also showcase some of our amazing curriculum work!
Year 2 also worked hard to improve our planters around the school, ahead of Open Gardens, as part of their Young Leaders work. Our amazing Friend's of St. Mary's and a team of parent helpers also worked at making the rest of our outdoor space look beautiful for the event!
We previewed our Open Garden during the official opening of our new Early Years garden on 21/06/24.

Village Christmas Cards 2023
As has become customary, every year we make special Christmas Cards for three main Village groups - Beverley Court (the residential home in Clophill), the Methodist Church and St. Mary's Church. Some of our children deliver these with a member of staff. The children really enjoy visiting the community at this time.
Remembrance 2023
As a school, we continue to attend the War Memorial on 11th November to lead the village 2 minutes silence and place our own, eco-wreaths on the memorial. Other village groups, as well as members of the village, join us for this important occasion.

Once again, our families were incredibly generous in their donations, as can be seen from the pictures below:

Harvest 2022
For Harvest in September 2022, we supported the NEED project: https://theneedproject.org/
The children were asked to bring in tinned or packaged goods which are then delivered to those who are experiencing food deprivation in Central Bedfordshire. As you can see, as always, our St. Mary's families did us proud and we collected 23 full bags of food for the Need project!

Clophill Open Gardens 2022
Each class designed and produced a garden for the Clophill Open Gardens event in June 2022. We proudly displayed our gardens in our 'peaceful garden' within our school playground. Lots of visitors came over the weekend to view our beautiful displays.
