Clophill St Marys CofE lower school

Attendance

Our school has a positive and pro-active ethos which places high value on attendance and punctuality, as well as valuing its partnership with parents/carers to promote good attendance.  Detailed information can be found in our Attendance Policy which can be found in our Policies section of the website.

Absence from school

If your child will be absent from school, we ask that the parent/carer contacts the school before 09.30 via Studybugs only: https://studybugs.com/signin

In order to report absence, we require all parents to get the free Studybugs app, or register on the Studybugs website, and use it to tell us whenever your child's ill and unable to attend school:

Get the app or register now (https://studybugs.com/about/parents)

As you progress through the registration stage, when it comes to adding the required school, please type: Clophill St. Mary’s and our school should appear.

Studybugs will require parents/carers to provide a reason for absence and will also give you advice direct from the NHS and Public Health on how long your child should remain home for or, if the illness is mild, if they can actually come into school.

For more information on Studybugs, please click the link above.

Studybugs will also alert parents/carers when their child's attendance falls below the minimium requirement (90% in the Autumn Term and 93% in the Spring and Summer terms).  Parents/carers will also receive an alert when their child's attendance moves back above the minimum requirement.

Holiday's within Term Time

All requests for holidays within term time must be submitted via this form.  This is required for all children from Reception upwards, including those who are non-statutory school age.

Holidays in term time can only be agreed by Mrs. Bingley, the Headteacher.  She will consider each absence application individually, although our policy has to be to NOT grant leave of absence during term time, other than in the most exceptional circumstances.
