About Our School and Nursery

Over 150 years since the foundation of Clophill St Mary’s Lower School in 1872, we remain deeply rooted in our local community. As the village has evolved, so too has the school. From first serving the children of farming and straw-working families, we now continue to serve today’s community with compassion, commitment, and care.

Inspired by St Mary the Virgin, our school is grounded in humility, service, and faith. It has grown alongside the community—supporting not only academic learning, but also the personal and spiritual development of every pupil. We welcome each child with the opportunity to grow in knowledge, character, and understanding. Just as seeds planted in good soil grow strong, Clophill St Mary’s continues to be a place where young lives are nurtured with care, enabling every child to flourish in heart, mind, and spirit.
